Accor is to further expand its Novotel portfolio in Indonesia when the Novotel Manado opens its doors on May 9, 2009.

The Novotel Manado is a new 152 room city centre hotel which is part of an integrated development with Manado’s largest convention hall, Grand Kawanua International City.

Novotel Manado also boasts an impressive food and beverage selection. The Square is an all day dining restaurant, with its a la carte menu and buffet comprising of dishes from around the world. An authentic Japanese restaurant, Wasabi located on Mezzanine floor will offer a range of modern and traditional Japanese dishes. Dragon Phoenix, serving Cantonese and Szechuan specialties located at lower ground can accommodate up to 50 guests in an elegant atmosphere. For places to drink, H2O is an open air pool bar and Lokon Wine & Cigar a comfortable and relaxed venue to unwind for pre and after-dinner drinks.

With 7,303 square feet of meeting and banqueting space, the Grand Kawanua Convention Venue can cater to 2,500 people.

Other hotel facilities at the hotel include WiFi in all rooms and public areas, business centre with full secretarial services, swimming pool, 18-hole golf course and a children’s club for the younger guests.

Gerard Guillouet, Vice President for Accor Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore said, “Accor has been actively growing the Novotel network around Indonesia for over a decade. The new Novotel Manado will be an invaluable addition to Manado’s tourism infrastructure. The combination of the Grand Kawanua International City with Novotel Manado provides a convincing offer to the international conference and conventions market.”

North Sulawesi, with Manado as the capital, is a land of magnificent coral reefs protecting virgin white beaches and mountains. Manado’s main attractions are off-shore: the incredible coral reefs off nearby Bunaken Island, now a protected Marine Park, offer some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world.

With the opening of Novotel Manado, Accor operates 15 Novotels throughout the Indonesian Archipelago, 84 throughout Asia Pacific and over 400 around the world.

Novotel Manado like all Novotels throughout Asia Pacific is working to achieve certification under Green Globe Sustainable Tourism Certification by the end of 2009. Green Globe is an international organisation that provides certification for Sustainable Tourism, originally established in 1992 by the World Tourism and Travel Council and based on Agenda 21 (priorities of the 21st century for the planet).

Novotel Manado is celebrating its opening with a special opening rate of IDR 599,000 net per room night stay in a Superior Room valid from May 15 – July 31, 2009.
