Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Times Square opened its doors this week in South Korea’s new multi-complex entertainment landmark that combines shopping, cultural activities, education, offices, restaurants and other attractions.

The 16-floor hotel features 214 deluxe rooms with king or two doubles, 59 executive rooms and 10 suites. Each guest room offers high-speed internet, luxurious bedding, modern furnishings and large work areas. For executive rooms and suites, an executive lounge located on the 15th floor offers complimentary continental breakfast, snacks and evening cocktails.

Additional facilities at the hotel include a fully equipped gym on the fourth floor, which is open 24 hours a day. Six meeting rooms totaling 304 square meters with complete catering services are ideal for small and medium sized meetings or social occasions. A full service business center and internet access throughout the hotel allows guests to stay productive wherever they are in the hotel.

A perfect hub for business and leisure travelers, the property lies in the heart of downtown Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo district and offers subway access within the complex for easy access to all the city’s major venues and attractions. The Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Times Square is only five minutes from the financial district and 20 minutes from Gimpo International Airport.

Being in the heart of downtown, hotel guests are surrounded by 55 restaurants featuring international and local cuisines, bars and clubs, 60 fashion stores with upscale brand names including among others Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Cartier and Bulgari. In addition to the shopping haven the multi-complex offers wholesale markets, wedding and convention venues, book stores and the world’s largest screen theater that can seat up to 2,700 people. Bringing nature and some tranquility to the bustling city development is a rooftop garden that spans nearly 15,000 square meters.

Simon Bell is the property’s general manager and CK Kim is director of sales and marketing.

To celebrate its opening, the hotel is offering an introductory rate of KRW 99,000 plus tax per night for a deluxe king or double room, and KRW 119,000 for the same accommodation with breakfast for two. This promotional rate is valid until October 31, 2009.

The hotel marks Marriott International’s fourth property in its South Korean portfolio. Other Marriott hotels in the country include 497-room JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, 494-room Renaissance Seoul Hotel and 102-unit Yeouido Park Centre, Seoul - Marriott Executive Apartments.
