Search ASIA Travel Tips .com Latest Travel News Send to Friend Monday, 24 August 2009

Air China is updating its PhoenixMiles service on the 15th anniversary of the frequent flyer program.

The security of the PhoenixMiles accounts will be enhanced, and each PhoenixMiles member will be allowed to register up to eight additional people as mileage assignees who can receive PhoenixMiles from them.

Miles earned from non-aviation services, such as hotels, restaurants and car rental are excluded from this offer.

PhoenixMiles members will receive 500 miles when they register their assignee list, of up to eight people, for the first time on the PhoenixMiles website.

In order to properly implement this system, Air China will allow PhoenixMiles members to exchange their miles unconditionally until this new system comes into effect on January 1st, 2010.

Air China has made the following additional changes to guarantee the security of PhoenixMiles members' accounts: New mileage assignees cannot combine Members' miles with their own - the miles must be used separately, children mileage assignees must follow the same rules as adults and companies or fictitious people cannot be listed as assignees.
