Pan Pacific and Parkroyal launch New Central Reservations and Distribution System

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 24 February 2009

Following the successful migration of Parkroyal Hotels and Resorts from a third party distribution provider to a proprietary system, Pan Pacific and Parkroyal Hotels have launched a new central reservations and distribution system named Panther.

This new distribution platform has been designed to allow vast amounts of data flow with substantial improvements to efficiency and productivity. Providing a single point of inventory control across hotel properties, Panther prevents transaction duplication across all reservations channels and ensures rate and inventory parity whilst improving transactional capabilities.

“The integration of both Parkroyal and Pan Pacific brands into Panther is part of our long-term strategy to position our brands for continuous growth and builds on our commitment to deliver the best customer experience,” said Mr A. Patrick Imbardelli, President and CEO for both Pan Pacific and Parkroyal brands. “In addition, Panther allows for greater operational synergy amongst all our hotels, allowing us to optimize revenue opportunities.”

Encompassing MICROS Systems’ Enterprise Solution, Panther enables customers to enjoy greater personalisation in their hotel experience through enhanced integration with the hotels’ customer relationship management database.

With Panther, all hotels under the Pan Pacific and Parkroyal brands will be able to capture more direct business at a lower transactional cost, through the automation of information flow to both the internal and external customers.

“The launch of Panther has already seen positive results, having registered a 26% growth in revenue and 23% increase in total room nights, when compared against last year’s performance. Panther provides an ever higher level of personalised service for our customers and our travel industry partners by ensuring single image room and rate availability across all distribution channels on a 24/7 basis,” Mr Imbardelli added.

Parkroyal Hotels & Resorts is now operating under new designated Global Distribution System (GDS) Chain code ‘PL’ and Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts’ is represented as ‘PF’, to maximise exposure in the GDS environment.

With Panther, both Pan Pacific and Parkroyal now have an in-house Central Reservations Centre, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, the enhanced booking engine on panpacific.com and parkroyalhotels.com allows multi sequencing sell by room type and Toll Free reservations into three Voice Centers in Singapore for Asia Pacific, Tokyo for Japan and Seattle for America.
