China Southern Airlines has launched a 14-times daily service between its hub in Guangzhou and Wuhan. The launch of new services mark the launch of mobile phone boarding and the 2nd generation identity card boarding service in Wuhan Tianhe airport.

The airline now operates the Guangzhou-Wuhan air express route every one hour from 8 am to 10 pm each day. The airline offers exclusive check-in counter and boarding gate, a dedicated security channel, and exclusive services such as a baggage claim area for passengers, which makes the boarding process more efficient and convenient. Passengers only need to check in 30 minutes before takeoff. A 16-times daily service to Changsha in Hunan province is already in operation.

To simplify the boarding process, China Southern airlines has extended online check-in, SMS check-in and mobile phone boarding services in Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and launched the 2nd generation identity card boarding service in Wuhan Tianhe airport.

Mr. Tan Wan Geng, president of China Southern Airlines, said , “in response to the pressure from high-speed railway, we increased the density of shuttle flights in Guangzhou-Wuhan and Guangzhou-Changsha route, lowered the fares and simplified the boarding process to better serve our customers.”

Talking about the newly initiated high-speed railway, he then added that, “in the long run, the coming of high-speed railway age is rather an opportunity than challenge to our airline company. China Southern is expecting cooperations with the railway company to extend the market and develop more packaged travel products for the passengers.”
