It is not everyday you see the jaws of experienced, top executive hoteliers, with some of the biggest names in the industry, drop, when another hotelier speaks of his company. But that, is exactly what happened last week at the Budget & Economy Hotels 2009 forum in Singapore.

On the first day of the event taking place at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, a man, unknown to many of the CEOs and VPs in attendance, stood to share a brief insight into his company. That man, was Mr Jason Zong the Chief Operating Officer of Shanghai-based Home Inns and Hotels Management.

Despite the company being only 7 years old, it already has 80 hotels in Beijing, 70 in Shanghai and a grand total of 600 hotels in operation all over China. With such staggering numbers, and much more to come, TravelNewsAsia.com managed to grab an unscheduled moment with Mr Zong to ask him a little more about his company:

As our time with Mr Zong was limited, we will be conducting some more, much more in-depth interviews with him at a future date, so do check back.
