Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat is offering professional tennis coaching lessons through the Peter Burwash International (PBI) tennis management until May 2010.

The tennis lessons are available for hotel guests as well as members of the hotel’s health club and include a wide range of tennis coaching techniques suitable for beginners and more advanced players. The lessons can be booked privately or as part of a group.

“Tennis is a fantastic sport and we wanted to make sure our guests and members make the most of our brand new tennis facilities following the renovation,” said Martin van Kan, Director of Operations for IHG Oman and General Manager of Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat. “PBI is world-renowned for tennis coaching and we are only offering the best. I encourage all our guests to give it a try – I will certainly play a set or two.”

Named after Peter Burwash, a two-time Davis Cup winner and Canadian no. 1, PBI is a leading tennis management company, specializing in tennis instruction, program development and daily activities for five-star resorts, hotels and clubs worldwide based on Burwash’s teaching philosophy. PBI tennis professionals have taught over three million students since 1975.

PBI’s presence at the Al Bustan Place InterContinental Muscat will be lead by professional tennis coach James Corin who has several years of extensive coaching experience in the UK and the US.

The Al Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat’s health club has been expanded following the iconic property’s extensive renovations to include a variety of new and exclusive facilities. The new health club features activities catering to hotel guests and members – these include: recreational water sports, pilates, yoga, aerobics, Thai Chi and a fully equipped gym. The hotel also offers a selection of massages and spa therapies.

For children, there is a weekly programme specially designed to entertain and teach them new skills – these range from sandcastle building, face painting, lantern making, shell collecting to fitness classes, tennis, treasure hunting and bingo.

The property has three types of memberships to gain access to their health and leisure facilities on an annual basis. These are the Beach Club membership, Health Club membership and the Mid Week Ladies membership.
