Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry to Open ITB Asia 2009

Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr Lim Hng Kiang will open the second edition of ITB Asia on Wednesday, 21 October in Singapore.

Minister Lim will be joined on stage by the CEO of Messe Berlin, Mr Raimund Hosch, to formally open ITB Asia 2009 - “The Trade Show for the Asian Travel Market.”

The opening ceremony will take place in the Theatre on Level 2 of the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre at 09:00.

During the 45-minute ceremony, Minister Lim and Mr Hosch will give addresses. Singapore’s “D” Jazz Ensemble will provide musical interludes. The opening ceremony finishes at 09:45 and will be immediately followed by a VIP tour of the booths on the 10,600 sqm ITB Asia show floor on Level 6 of Suntec.

“The opening ceremony will raise the curtain for what we believe will be the return of sunshine days for the Asian travel industry,” said Mr Hosch.

ITB Asia delegates who wish to attend the opening ceremony, should arrive to be seated no later than 08:50. Attendance is open to anyone with an ITB Asia delegate badge.
