The Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay, a luxury boutique resort located in the Hajar Mountains in Oman, has installed 3Com's state-of-the-art networking solutions to ensure its guests can stay connected seamlessly.

3Com's feature-rich LAN switches, wireless controllers and access points that were installed by RAMCO (a leading 3Com Partner that provides enterprise IT/IP solutions covering a wide range of industry sectors and businesses) enable seamless access to efficient and reliable broadband services across the entire resort. 3Com also recently deployed the IP infrastructure for the Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi in Thailand.

In addition to providing its guests and employees with basic connectivity, the IT team at the Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay was tasked with building a high-bandwidth, reliable network capable of supporting Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) in all hotel rooms.

Six Senses maintains a policy of encouraging the use of products and processes with minimum environmental impact. It is a renowned advocate of energy efficiency, sustainable water and waste management, protection of natural surroundings and air quality, as well as noise control.

“While we wanted to provide our guests with top-notch networking infrastructure, we were also concerned with the environmental consequences of such a project. 3Com has provided us with an eco-friendly and yet high-performance communications platform, which provides us with a competitive edge while maintaining Six Senses and Oman’s reputation as an environmentally responsible leisure destination,” concluded Rochelle Kilgariff, General Manager, Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay.
