MSC Splendida to Outshine MSC Fantasia

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Thursday, 18 June 2009

With the successful launch of MSC Fantasia in 2008, MSC Cruises has another imminent christening on the horizon. Barcelona will host the grand unveiling of the Fantasia's twin sister - MSC Splendida - on July 12.

MSC Splendida will then take the spotlight as the largest and most luxurious ship ever commissioned by a European cruise company. Together, they will make a formidable force as they unite to make the new Fantasia Class.

Boasting the same advanced technology and ecological credentials as MSC Fantasia; MSC Splendida is expected to outshine its twin sister when it comes to luxury and style.

Completed separately, MSC Splendida houses the same hallmark features such as the sweeping Swarovski crystal staircases, the Aqua Park with its 150 fountains and water jets and the North Pole Children’s Play Centre, but also includes innovative new features such as mini bowling alleys.

The high-tech Sports Bar will house the ten-pin bowling lanes, scaled down to become the perfect accompaniment to enjoying a drink with friends and family. The reduced size and the vast array of interactive videogames make this a perfect place for youngsters and big kids alike.

In true MSC Cruises’ style all needs and tastes are catered for, reflected in the MSC Yacht Club. MSC Splendida will follow in her older sister’s footsteps in providing an exclusive, ultra-luxury VIP area offering travelers a choice of spacious suites, a bar for VIP guests only, a skydome swimming pool, hydro-massage pools and a dedicated observation lounge with a full bar service.

MSC Splendida will cruise the heart of the Mediterranean and the adjacent European Atlantic seaboard, embarking on a series of inspiring itineraries to many of history’s most famous sites, including Alexandria, Athens, Barcelona, Casablanca, Crete, Madeira, Malta, Naples, Olympia, Rhodes, Rome, Tenerife and Tunis.
