Starwood Opens First Four Points by Sheraton in India

Starwood has opened its first Four Points by Sheraton branded hotel in India. The Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai, Vashi recently opened and will be followed by the Four Points by Sheraton, Jaipur City Square which is scheduled to open in October 2009.

“Starwood has spent the last two years laying the groundwork for the debut of the Four Points by Sheraton brand in India, and we are thrilled to see our plans come to fruition with the opening and signing of these new hotels,” said Miguel Ko, President and Chairman of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Asia Pacific.

The Four Points by Sheraton brand was introduced to Asia Pacific in 2000 with hotels in Sydney, Geelong, Shenzhen and Chung Ho, and now has grown to a strong portfolio of 31 hotels in the region, including 12 in operation and nearly 20 under development in China, Cambodia, Taiwan Malaysia, Thailand and India.

Located in the bustling business center of the Navi Mumbai Metropolis, Four Points by Sheraton Navi Mumbai, Vashi is just a short stroll from prominent shopping opportunities and the city’s leading corporations. The hotel offers 151 guest rooms, a bar and deli with an all-day dining restaurant, a health club and swimming pool as well as meeting facilities.

Located in the new Jaipur city center, Four Points by Sheraton Jaipur, City Square will be just minutes of MI Road, the city’s commercial hub. Guests will enjoy convenient access to the airport, several historic forts and palaces, leading retail centers and offices. The hotel will feature 115 guest rooms, a bar/deli and an all-day dining restaurant and nearly 750 square feet of meeting and function space.

Within India, Starwood currently operates 21 hotels, including seven under The Luxury Collection brand, eight Le Méridien hotels, four Sheraton hotels, one Westin and the new Four Points by Sheraton hotel. By 2012, Starwood expects to have an additional 15 new hotels in India across the Sheraton, Westin, Four Points by Sheraton and Aloft brands.
