Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has signed agreements with two United Kingdom based companies Beagle Aerospace and Generation Metals International.

The agreement with ADAC and Beagle Aerospace will lead to local spares warehousing at Al Ain, providing off-the-shelf availability for aircraft components such as flaps, spoilers, engine cowls and thrust reversers, meaning faster response times for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.

The company has a long and well established history within the aerospace industry and its future plans include the commissioning of a purpose built specialist composite repair facility within the Cluster at Al Ain.

HE Khalifa Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of ADAC, commenting on the two agreements, said, “The UK aerospace industry is renowned throughout the world for the exceptional quality of its aviation products and services. ADAC is delighted to be partnering Beagle Aerospace and Generation Metals, both leaders within their respective fields, and is confident that their introduction into the new aerospace cluster in Al Ain will help this emerging centre to prosper.”

On behalf of Beagle Aerospace, Rob Ludford, CEO, said, “This exciting opportunity enables Beagle to work closely with our valued partners, ADAC, in accelerating our well developed plans to offer a much needed specialist structural support capability in the region. We see this as an expansion of our UK business and an opportunity for our business to grow into the Middle East, Asia and further afield.”

The Binding Agreement between ADAC and Generation Metals International aims to utilise the company’s expertise in supply chain management as well as providing an extensive range of aerospace metallics to businesses operating in the wider region.

Kevin Bolderston, Managing Director of Generation Metals, said, “As an established global supplier of aerospace products and services our strategy is one of further expansion overseas – we see Al Ain as a key accelerator in our growth on the global stage. We see ourselves meeting the needs of the Cluster businesses as well as facilitating our progression across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.”

Based on the UK’s south coast, Beagle Aerospace are after-market support specialists and have been serving the Aerospace industry for over 50 years. The company’s core activities are centred around exclusive through-life support contracts covering the manufacture of components and the provision of support services for military fast jets, the fabrication of new spare parts for major civil airline OEM’s and an advanced composite structural repair facility.

The EASA / FAA approved repair facility is based at the company’s headquarters in the UK and specialises in the repair, overhaul and exchange of composite and metallic structures such as flight control surfaces, nacelles, cowlings inlets and thrust reversers for the majority of Boeing and Airbus commercial airliners. It also includes one of the largest MRO dedicated autoclaves in Europe.

Generation Metals International, formed over 25 years ago, is an independent company specialising in supply chain management services and the provision of a wide range of aerospace metallics.
