Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 1 July 2009

To celebrate its first birthday, the Millennium Resort Patong Phuket is giving its guests over THB4,690 (Sin$200 / US$138) worth of gifts, on top of numerous shopping and dining discounts.

Until 31 October 2009, guests who stay at the five-star hotel will be entitled to various promotions when they book the hotel’s inaugural Anniversary Package, which includes freebies such as free scuba diving lessons, cinema tickets and one-for-one car rentals. Guests can also enjoy massages at the in-house Escentika Spa at half price.

To enjoy these privileges, guests simply need to flash their hotel key cards at select retailers.

The Anniversary Package also offers rooms at wallet- friendly prices from THB2,888 +++ (Sin$123 / US$85) per night.

“We thought it would be great if we could take care of our guests every need - in and outside of the hotel,” said hotel General Manager Peter Gibbons. “The Anniversary Package is our way of doing that.”

Those who want some retail therapy can also indulge in discounts of up to 50% at various shopping outlets - including gem retailers, Robinsons Department Store and sports stores - located at the hotel or at the neighbouring Jungceylon Shopping Mall, Phuket’s largest and best international shopping mall.

“The past year has been a very eventful one for the country,” said Mr Gibbons. “Nonetheless, we’ve received tremendous support from guests and the local community alike. These promotional tie-ups are our way reciprocating that support, especially to the local retailers.”
