Mr. Tomas Hansson has been appointed General
Manager of Le Méridien Qingdao, the first Starwood hotel in
Qingdao.
A native of Sweden, Tomas Hansson has held
various senior management positions at Starwood and in China, most
recently as opening General Manager of the Sheraton Shenzhen
Futian Hotel.
Prior to that, Mr. Hansson was involved in
the openings of Sheraton Shenyang and Sheraton Nanjing and was
also the General Manager of Sheraton Chengdu.
Before travelling to China, Mr. Hansson
worked at Sheraton Hotels in England and in Sweden.
Scheduled to open in December 2009, Le Méridien
Qingdao is the 4th Le Méridien Hotels in mainland China.
Located in the newly developing CBD
centre, the hotel features 348 guest rooms and suites, three fine
restaurants and a lobby lounge, fitness centre and spa, as well as
a total of 1824 square metres meeting space.
