Jet Airways and Kerala Tourism launch Jet2Kerala

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 13 May 2009

As part of an ongoing effort to boost tourism within India, Jet Airways and Kerala Tourism have launched a 'Jet2Kerala' promotion.

With its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, be it the sandy beaches of Kovalam, blue Lagoons at Veli, Hill stations at Munnar, backwaters of Kollam and Alappuzha, spice plantations in the high ranges of Wayanad, wildlife, high mountain peaks, picturesque valleys, magnificent forts and intricately decorated temples, Kerala has emerged as one of the leading travel destination in India.

Jet Airways and its all-economy subsidiary, JetLite, offer travelers connectivity from all major parts of the country to three key cities in Kerala- Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.

Jet2Kerala will offer travelers packages catering to a range of price points, from premium to value-travelers. Travelers can enjoy a range of accommodation options to suit every budget - from luxury properties to budget hotels and houseboats.

Mr. Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, said, “We are delighted to partner with Kerala Tourism to launch our new Jet2Kerala initiative, as part of our ongoing efforts to boost domestic travel and tourism. We are confident that the compelling value proposition on offer will spur more travelers to visit Kerala this year.”

Dr. Venu V, Secretary (Tourism), Government of Kerala added, “Kerala has been positioned as an upmarket, high quality international destination. Despite the challenges posed by the global economic downturn, the international tourist arrivals continue to be impressive, with a 16.11% increase in visitors in 2008.

But we are also concentrating our efforts on the Indian market, given the increasing propensity for travel in this market. And with Jet2Kerala, we are delivering a product, whereby Kerala is more within the reach of the domestic traveler.”

For all IATA agents registered through Kerala Tourism, the booking request needs to be sent to the Jet Airways Kochi city counters, for the same to be created and the PNR sent to the respective agent.

Non-IATA agents can either contact their respective IATA ticketing agent who will follow the above mentioned process, or come to the Jet Airways Kochi city counters themselves, create the PNR’s and make the requisite payment at the counter itself.
