The Banyan Tree Al Areen has launched an Hummer Driving Academy promotion, offering outdoor-loving adrenaline seekers a true grapple with the many-sided terrain of the Bahraini landscape even while they are cocooned in world-renowned Asian hospitality with the finest Spa facilities available.

Located in the stark desert landscape of Bahrain, just a five-minute drive away, Banyan Tree Al Areen has collaborated with the world-famous Bahrain F1 International Circuit to present an off-road adventure like nothing else.

Boasting a dramatic 4x4 course, the Bahrain International Circuit is home to the Hummer Driving Academy which offers a purpose-built desert course boasting over 30 obstacles guaranteed to test both skill and confidence levels.

Banyan Tree Al Areens new Hummer Driving Academy Package is priced from BHD 898++ per night, including accommodation in a Desert Pool Villa, one daily 90-minute treatment session at Banyan Tree Spa, a welcome gift upon arrival and the complete Hummer Driving Academy course at Bahrain International Circuit, for two. There is a minimum stay of two nights.

The Hummer Academy Package is next available from 4 to 5 March, and 3 to 4 April 2009. However, if there are six or more participants booked under the Hummer Driving Academy Package, other dates can be arranged.

The Hummer is a civilian truck introduced in 1992, adapted from the battle-tested military HMMWVs (Humvee) used by the US Army. Its strength, durability and individualism have made it a highly sought-after vehicle.

The Hummer Driving Academy course covers a variety of off-road skills in a Hummer H3, including off-road driving techniques, vehicle recovery, introduction to navigation with GPS, basic desert survival skills and first aid. At the end of the course there is a graduation ceremony with a Certificate of Achievement and complimentary Hummer gifts.

The Banyan Tree Al Areen boasts a total of 78 luxuriously appointed villas, comprising 56 one-bedroom Desert Pool Villas and 22 two-bedroom Royal Pool Villas with each featuring private open-air swimming and jet pools, generous-sized infinity bath tubs and spacious master bedrooms.

In addition to having one of the regions largest spas and hydrotherapy areas, three international restaurants, a complete body wellness centre, the resort also features Banyan Trees award-winning Gallery showcasing crafts, gifts and beauty products that appeal to todays travelers with a conscience.
