Mr Rutger Verschuren has been appointed as Complex General Manager for the complex of Sheraton Tripoli Hotels and Four Points by Sheraton Tripoli.

The Four Points by Sheraton Tripoli is scheduled to open early 2010 and Sheraton Tripoli 3Q 2010.

Rutger Verschuren joined Starwood mid 2008 as Managing Director of the 4067 room Sheraton Macau Cotai Strip. Prior to this, Rutger was Vice-President of Operations for Dusit International in Thailand for over 7 years. A Dutch national, he graduated from the Hotelschool The Hague in 1986.

Sheraton Tripoli Hotel and Four Points by Sheraton Tripoli will form part of a mixed-used development including a luxurious marina, retail space and offices to be known as Andalous Center, adjacent to the planned new People’s Conference Hall.

Both hotels will be situated on Mediterranean beachfront, minutes from the center of Tripoli, the historic, seaside capital of Libya.

The strategic beachfront location will enable the two hotels to offer direct beach access to its guests, as well as proximity to the elegant, colonial downtown area of Tripoli where guests can explore traditional bazaars and the atmospheric Medina – a labyrinth of alleys and Ottoman monuments.

One of the biggest countries on the African continent, Libya boasts a thriving economy and spectacular desert landscapes as well as five UNESCO classified sites.

The Sheraton Tripoli Hotel will offer 295 rooms, including 55 suites, a large selection of restaurants and bars as well as a spacious spa, a fitness center, plus meeting space, comprised of a ballroom and 13 meeting rooms.

The Four Points by Sheraton Tripoli will be adjacent to the Sheraton Tripoli and will consist of 205 rooms, restaurants, bars, meetings rooms, indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness center.

The complex will also include 56 apartments, located along the marina.
