The Upper House in Hong Kong has joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts' collection of luxury properties.

Opening in October 2009, The Upper House, conveniently located in the business district of Pacific Place in Admiralty, Hong Kong Island's premier integrated commercial and retail complex, offers a range of efficient public transportation options at its doorstep.

The hotel's 117 guestrooms, including 21 suites and two penthouses, all feature scenic harbour or island views and start at 730 sq ft - among the largest guestrooms in Hong Kong.

Bathrooms of over 300 sqft are framed with panoramic windows and come with walk-in rain showers, separate dressing areas, and deep soaking baths.

Guests will be able to enjoy the complimentary in-room bar, dual temperature wine fridge, espresso machine, wireless Internet access, and 2.1 surround sound with connectivity to PC, camcorder, and MP3. The hotel will also provide Lexus hybrid cars for airport transfers.

The restaurant - Café Gray Deluxe, a 21st century 'grand café' located on the 49th floor overlooking Victoria Harbour - marks the return of celebrated chef Gray Kunz from New York to Hong Kong with his unique style of European classics and signature dishes from the finest kitchens of Europe, Asia, and the United States. The restaurant is highlighted by a 14 metre long open kitchen and an equally long bar. The outdoor lawn on the 6th floor and the warm and inviting Sky Lounge on the 49th floor are alternative venues.

Mark Simmons, Area Managing Director - Asia, Preferred Hotel Group, said, "This partnership solidifies the Preferred Hotels and Resorts brand presence in Asia as our first member hotel in Hong Kong. A sister hotel of the award winning The Opposite House in Beijing, we are thrilled to be partnering with Swire Hotels on another outstanding property which will undoubtedly be one of Hong Kong's finest luxury hotels. The Upper House will be a significant addition to the brand network where we already have member hotels in key Asian cities including Beijing, Tokyo, New Delhi, Jakarta, Shanghai and Singapore."
