Centara markets Bhundhari Spa Resort & Villas in Samui as Adults-Only Hotel

Bhundhari Spa Resort & Villas Samui, a new premium four-star resort on the island of Samui in Southern Thailand, is being marketed as Thailand's first adults-only hotel.

"We have been looking at the market, and realised that there is potentially a strong demand for luxury spa resort accommodation that provides a romantic retreat for couples who did not want to be surrounded by children and families, where guests really could enjoy a private atmosphere," said Mr Chris Bailey, Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing at Centara Hotels and Resorts.

Bhundhari Spa Resort & Villas Samui is the third property to be operated by Centara Hotels and Resorts on Samui. It opened earlier this year.

Located on a hillside with a path leading down to the beach, and with views over the town of Chaweng just 10 minutes' away, the resort is designed in a Southern Thai style and with its 124 deluxe rooms and villas is built on a scale that allows privacy.

Deluxe rooms start at 42 sqm, while the villas start at 48 sqm. Each room and villa has its own private terrace or patio, while the larger villas offer the choice of a private pool or a Jacuzzi on the sundeck.

Centara's Club concept allows Club Lounge access to guests along with Centara signature service of five complimentary daily meal presentations, namely continental breakfast, mid morning snacks, lunch time snacks, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails and canapés.

"The idea is for complete, unashamed luxury," Mr Bailey said. "Our guests are given individual attention by our staff, but they also have the privacy and the peace that comes when there are no distractions such as children having their own kind of fun."

There are two restaurants within the resort, one situated on the hillside and the other offering barefoot beach dining. Both serve Western, Thai and other Asian cuisines. There is also a bar. In addition, guests can enjoy the full facilities of their room or villa and order in-room dining, which is available 24 hours a day.

Designed as an integral part of the resort is SPA Cenvaree, which offers treatments and therapies for singles and couples in the privacy of individual pavilions, and which has a fitness centre with gym, sauna and steam room attached. There are two swimming pools, the main pool being on the hillside overlooking the beach, with the other pool at the beach itself.

The resort is located at the northern end of Chaweng Beach, where there is plenty of peace and quiet, yet within a few minutes guests can be in the centre of Chaweng itself, with all its shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

To introduce the concept, Centara is offering special room rates for limited periods during this year, in which a Deluxe Room is available at prices starting from Baht 2,950 net per night to a Deluxe Pool Villa with club benefits at Baht 8,450 net per night.
