Ritz-Carlton has signed a new property in Thailand, the Similan Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.

Located in Bo Dan, just north of Tha Sai, the 79 upscale villa resort is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Developed by an institutional private equity firm, the site was previously owned by Kingdom Hotel Investments and had been earmarked as a Raffles managed property.

Reserve, a new brand extension of Ritz-Carlton, is to launch in Krabi, also in Southern Thailand, with the Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve. This Krabi project has been delayed, and is currently scheduled to open 1 December 2009.
