China Airlines Extends Content Agreement with Travelport GDS

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Tuesday, 10 February 2009

Travelport GDS has renewed its content distribution agreement with Taiwan-based carrier, China Airlines.

As part of the agreement, China Airlines will implement automated market fares on the Galileo system in Taiwan, allowing agents to access the most up-to-date fares on the carrier. The new agreement will also extend functionalities currently available on the Galileo GDS – such as Interactive Seat Assignment, View PNR and Complete Booking Record – to Worldspan connected agents worldwide.

Additionally, China Airlines will continue its subscription to Travelport’s Business Intelligence division for its Marketing Information Data Tapes (MIDT) which provides timely insight into the booking performance of Travelport GDS connected travel agencies.

As a preferred business intelligence source for competitive information on advance bookings, MIDT is a key component to help ensure optimal decisions are made by airlines in the current economic environment. The data provided enables the carrier’s sales and planning teams to make well informed business decisions and adjust strategy as needed to maximise load factors and yields on their key routes.

"We are delighted to extend our relationship with China Airlines. As a leading travel technology provider in Asia, Travelport continually strives to enhance its content and functionalities to deliver greater value for its airline suppliers and agency customers. This new agreement with China Airlines will simplify the booking process for our Travelport-connected agents and allow them to drive sales through efficiency,” said Brad Holman, President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Travelport GDS.
