Paul Adams, EMEA Regional Hospitality & Car Rental Director at global travel technology provider Travelport has been named ‘Most Supportive GDS Supplier’ by the Jumeirah Group, receiving the honour at the annual Jumeirah Awards Gala Dinner held recently in London.

More than 200 travel industry professionals attended the ceremony, hosted by Jumeirah at its Carlton Tower Hotel in Central London.

The award recognised the key role Paul and the team at Travelport have played in helping hotel suppliers such as Jumeirah drive hotel bookings through the GDS channel and market themselves more effectively on its Galileo and Worldspan platforms.

Over the past several months, Travelport has been focused on increasing its visibility in the Middle East as an effective sales channel for hotel bookings, partnering with major hotel groups such as Jumeirah to raise awareness of its offering and educate local travel agents on the ease of booking non-air segments on the GDS.

“Paul has been instrumental in raising awareness of our hotel offering across the Middle East and this award is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts,” said Rabih Saab, Vice-President, Travelport GDS Middle East. “We are proud to support hotel suppliers in the region and will continue to work closely with leading hotel groups such as Jumeirah in the future.”

Travelport provides access to more than 430 hotel brands, 88,000 properties and 30,000 car rental locations worldwide.
