Suntec Singapore appoints New Senior Director, Operations

Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre has appointed Chua Kok Piaw as Senior Director, Operations.

In his new role, Chua (or K P as he is better known) will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations for the various departments in the development and enhancement of Suntec Singapore. He will also lead all operational aspects of the business to ensure that the venue continues to deliver expected service levels to all its guests while at the same time, be supported by a state-of- the-art building and logistical services.

Prior to joining Suntec Singapore, Chua was General Manager of Special Projects with Pico Art, where he was responsible for the complex operations for the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings 2006. His other achievements include the HSBC Womens Championships 2008, Barclays Singapore Open 2007 and most recently, projects related to the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix.

No stranger to Suntec Singapore, KP spent many hours at Suntec Singapore during the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings where he was in charge of the multifaceted set-up operations for the 1,032 temporary double-storey offices, a medical centre, press centre, documents and records offices, publication store, Internet kiosks, finance office, procurement and international transport offices.

Throughout his career, KP has held various senior management positions in the National Council of Social Service, Apple Computers and Johnson and Johnson.

Married with two children, KP is a keen sportsman and enjoys reading classics.
