Executive Chef I Made Putra of The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali won 2 prestigious hospitality awards at the
recent Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2008-2010 (HAPA) competition as Chef of
The Year in Indonesia and King of Kitchens in the region.
Chef I Made Putra
was challenged by the organiser to compete with 23 participating Chefs from
star-rated hotels and resorts in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. A series of judging session was given by Hospitality Asia Platinum
Awards (HAPA) in Bali last August 2008.
Chef I Made Putra has been with The Laguna Resort & Spa, Nusa Dua, Bali for almost 13 years starting as Sous Chef. He manages 3 restaurants, in-room dining and banquet meeting
facilities which can accommodate up to 600 persons.
In addition, Chef I Made Putra is the President of elite Chef Association in Bali, Bali
Culinary Professionals Association. He is also Indonesia’s representative
of an elite audience of food professionals, World Association of Chefs' Societies
(WACS) since 2006.
