Swiss-Belhotel appoints Walid Mehiri as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing – Middle East

Swiss-Belhotel International Middle East has appointed Mr Walid Mehiri as Regional Director of Sales & Marketing – Middle East.

The rapidly growing Swiss-Belhotel International currently has 25 operating hotels worldwide with another 19 projects expected to open within two years. The new hotels will almost double the Hong Kong headquartered group’s total number of rooms from 3,281 to 5,925 (reflecting an increase of some 2,644 rooms).

Walid Mehiri, a Tunisian national, holds a Master Certificate in Hospitality Management from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. He has a solid understanding of the tourism industry, cultivated through 12 years of experience working in four and five star properties  carrying international brands. Prior to joining Swiss-Belhotel International he was Pre-opening General Manager of the Ramada Crown Residence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“The time is right for us to strengthen and expand our team in the Middle East, particularly in terms of Sales & Marketing given our increased penetration in the region and planned openings,” said Mr Gavin Faull, President, Swiss-Belhotel International.

With regard to the Mideast region, the group has operating hotels in Kuwait and Oman, and eagerly anticipated openings in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman and Jordan.
