Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Thursday, 6 March 2008

The UOL Group, owner of Pacific Hotels and Resorts, is entering the luxury extended stay business. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pan Pacific Hospitality Pte Ltd, it will open its flagship property known as Pan Pacific Serviced Suites in early April 2008. This marks a milestone for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts as it now has an extended stay product that caters specifically to the needs of overseas professionals.

“Moving into the extended serviced accommodation is a logical extension of the brand as it is complementary to our current hotel accommodation offering. The timing of the launch could not be better as globalisation continues to drive business expansion into Asia with corresponding growth in business travel. With Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, we will be able to capture this demand which augurs well for the group’s strategic development plan that will see the brand grow extensively in the Pacific region,” said Mr Gwee Lian Kheng, Group President & CEO of UOL Group.

“We have undertaken research including focus groups with business travellers and decision makers to find out what they seek in an ideal accommodation during overseas postings. The research has identified a prime opportunity in the market for us, which is the offering of a differentiated stay experience that recreates a home advantage with local connection to the city so that overseas professionals will feel less of a foreigner,” Mr Gwee added.

The Pan Pacific Serviced Suites will offer an extended stay experience in stylish and luxurious executive suites with a home advantage of immediate business, social and support networks that enable residents to be instantly and effortlessly connected  locally. To help residents settle into the city, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites offers local connections and access to business events and networks, exclusive social events as well as facilitating gatherings for like minded people. Residents will have access to an array of professional support services including housekeeping, IT, social, business and emergency contacts so that they are able to go about their daily lives, with the comfort and knowledge of a dependable support group.

Pan Pacific Serviced Suites’s PAs are available round the clock to attend to business, social and personal needs and more importantly they are the local connectors for its residents helping them ease into their new lives, focus on their work and enjoy the local experience.

One of the orientation programme highlights is a tour of the immediate locale of the Serviced Suites which will familiarise residents with the surroundings including banks, convenience stores, transport, dining and entertainment opportunities. Personalised welcome hampers, airport transfers, grocery shopping and delivery, pillow and bath menus and complimentary pressing service upon check-in are some of the ways residents will be made to feel locally connected. In addition, qualified Personal Trainers are also available in the state of the art fitness centre.

In the heart of vibrant Orchard Road, the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Singapore is set to impress its guests who appreciate the proximity to city centre offerings of commercial, shopping, dining and entertainment experience. Just twenty minutes from Changi International Airport, its prime location next to the Somerset MRT station also makes it an ideal accommodation for convenient travel to the central business district at Raffles Place, Marina Bay and Suntec City International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

With a total of 126 suites, the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Singapore comprises one-bedroom and two-bedroom Executive and Premium Suites as well as Penthouses. The Suites provide residents an option of turning their suites into offices. Besides designed to have separate entrances, these office suites are equipped to help them work efficiently, saving residents the hassle of renting another office space. The Suites offer panoramic view of either bustling Orchard Road or the lush greenery of Somerset Road. Each suite features a painting of Cultural Medallion recipient and local ink painter Chua Ek Kay and comes with premium branded amenities such as Bose home entertainment system, Loewe LCD TVs in all rooms including the second bedroom, iPod connectivity and wire/wireless broadband connectivity as well as Molten Brown toiletries.
