While
the Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2008, which will take place on Sunday 7 December
has already sold out, there are still opportunities for young athletes to get involved in this year’s sporting event, by participating in a Kid’s Splash & Dash at 8am on Saturday 6 December.
Youngsters can challenge themselves to the following distances depending on age: 8-10 year olds will swim 50m then run 1k, 11-12 year olds
will swim 75m then run 1.5k, 13-14 year olds will swim 150m then run 2.25k and 15-17 year olds will swim 300m and run 4.5k. All participants who
complete the race will receive a medal and the top three in each category will receive a trophy to mark their achievement.
Laguna Phuket’s Senior Assistant Vice President of Government and Community Relations, Mr. Niyom Tassaneetipagorn
said, “We already include a Fun Run for children in our
international marathon so this really opens up the Triathlon to both local and guest’s children staying at the resort - offering a unique dimension
to their holiday.”
