GDS has signed a new agreement with Singapore Airlines’ regional carrier, SilkAir. The new agreement will extend Travelport’s current commitment with SilkAir to five years.
SilkAir operates scheduled services from Singapore to 29 destinations across 11 countries in Asia.
The initial agreement was signed in April 2007 and saw Galileo provide its automated fare filing solution, Agency Private Fares to SilkAir’s market
pricing, allowing Galileo-connected travel agents worldwide to access the most up-to-date fares on the carrier.
“Travelport’s extended long term commitment with SilkAir strengthens the GDS’ regional travel content in Asia and offers increased sales
opportunities and improved productivity for our agency customers. At the same time, our extensive distribution network will enable SilkAir to
consolidate its global presence and reach in new markets,” said Brad Holman, President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Travelport GDS.
