The 2008 Laguna Phuket International Marathon,
which will take place 15 June, already has 3350 athletes registered to
take part. Local runners from Phuket and nearby provinces are expected to register at the expo taking place during the two days prior to the event, bringing the expected
number of athletes at this year’s event to over 5000.
The 3350 registered athletes can be divided into 700 athletes in the 42k Marathon, 900 in the 21k Half-Marathon, 650 in the 10.5k Run, 600 in
the 5k Walk and 500 in the 2k Kids’ Run.
Athletes from Thailand are the largest group at this year’s event, with 1263 athletes already
