Contiki Holidays, a leader in vacations for 18-35 year-olds, is offering travellers the chance to journey through New Zealand’s north island on a five-Day "Sun and Steam" tour.

The tour was designed for the cost-conscious traveller who is looking for a unique holiday experience with like-minded individuals from all across the globe, awesome scenery, great fun and extreme adventure.

These highlights along with city sightseeing are included in the tour price:

Day 1 – Auckland to Bay of Islands: Meet the Contiki crew and view the beauty of Auckland's famous harbour as you cross the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Heading towards the subtropical region of Northland, guests will explore Parry Kauri Park before checking into a resort in Paihia.

Day 2 – Bay of islands: The day is yours to enjoy the overwhelming beauty of the Bay of Islands. Take a Catamaran cruise through the "Hole-in-the-Rock" or travel along Ninety Mile Beach to Cape Reinga at lands end.

Day 3 – Bay of Islands to Waitomo: Head south, stopping in Auckland for lunch before travelling through the lush Waikato farming region to Waitomo, home of magical limestone formations and sparkling Glow-worms.

Day 4 – Waitomo to Rotorua: Visit the Glow-worm grotto or try underground cave rafting. Then visit the Agrodome farm show, on the way to the thermal area of Rotorua. Maybe try the Zorb or end the day by relaxing in a Polynesian thermal pool, before taking in a Maori Hangi meal and concert.

Day 5 – Rotorua to Auckland: Leaving Rotorua, head back to Auckland in the morning, arriving later in the afternoon. With the aid of experienced tour managers and drivers, travellers can tap into a wealth of “local” information and handy tips. Travellers also have the choice of selecting optional excursions to tag on to an already “funtastic” itinerary, all in the comfort of a modern air-conditioned coach.

The tour is priced at Sin$1307 per person including the flight to Auckland on Thai Airways (excludes airport taxes and surcharges). This includes quad-share accommodation (with twin-share options available for couples), transport and most meals.
