LAN Airlines launches Business Class Airpass

Search ASIA Travel Tips .com Latest Travel News Send to Friend Friday, 27 June 2008

LAN Airlines has expanded its popular South America Airpass, introducing a new Business Class version.

The new pass enables travellers to fly Business Class on a range of services operated within South and Central America by LAN Airlines, LAN Argentina, LAN Peru and LAN Ecuador. Where Business Class is not available, passengers can include economy class sectors within their Airpass itineraries.

Rodrigo Contreras, General Manager Australia, New Zealand and Asia for LAN, said the LAN South America Airpass was one of the most popular products for visitors to the region, and a Business Class version was a natural next step.

"Travel to South America is on the rise, with tourists seeking adventure experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in the world," Mr Contreras said. "By offering a Business Class Airpass, there is now also an option for travellers seeking a premium product experience."

LAN has increased the availability of Business Class throughout South America recently with the introduction of a fleet of new Airbus A320-family aircraft.

The airline is also upgrading the Business Class cabins on its fleet of wide-bodied Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which operate on some of the busiest and longest routes within South America, as well as services to the USA.

The new Boeing 767 Business Class includes flat bed seats, privacy dividers between seats, large seat-back LCD screens, fine cuisine and wines, power outlets for computers and Business Class travel kits. The airline also offers business lounges at key airports.

The LAN Airline Business Class Airpass routes and indicative one-way prices are:

Buenos Aires - Santiago US$319
Buenos Aires - Quito US$499
Guayaquil - Lima US$319
Lima - Sao Paulo US$419
Lima - Santiago US$469
Santiago - Rio de Janeiro US$569
Santiago - Sao Paulo US$519

The new LAN South America Business Airpass fares are valid until 31 March 2009 and do not include local taxes, which vary according to the route and date flown. These coupons can be purchased only by international travellers not residing in South America.
