Mandarin Oriental has signed an agreement to brand and manage 26 luxurious residences that will be developed on a site adjacent to the planned Mandarin Oriental, Taipei in the heart of the citys central financial and business district. This is the groups first residential project in  Asia, bringing the total number of branded Residences at Mandarin Oriental around the world to thirteen.

Housed in an elegant 14-storey building, designed by award-winning local architectural firm, CY Lee & Partners, The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei scheduled to open in 2010, will enjoy superb views overlooking a landscaped park and the commercial heart of the city. An exclusive range of leisure facilities are being designed within the residential development. These comprise a rooftop swimming pool with landscaped gardens, outdoor and indoor residents lounges, a comprehensive library and an elegant full service dining room. The project will also feature a private, underground car park, exclusively for residents. Mandarin Oriental, Taipei will provide management services for the whole development, as well as tailor-made services for individual residents.

In addition, owners of The Residences will enjoy easy access to the luxurious facilities of the adjacent 300-room Mandarin Oriental, Taipei. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Taipei will incorporate one of the most comprehensive ranges of wellness, beauty and massage treatments in the city, offering holistic rejuvenation and relaxation in a tranquil, meditative setting, with life-enhancing signature programmes that are exclusive to the group.

The hotel will also feature a fitness centre, four restaurants, and a Mandarin Oriental signature gourmet Cake Shop. The hotel and residences will also enjoy easy access to over 200,000sqft of internationally-recognised luxury retail.

The project is being jointly developed by Mandarina Crown Hotel Co. Ltd., the owner of Mandarin Oriental, Taipei, and Da Cin Development Company.
