Radisson Resort Fiji supporting Earth Hour

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Tuesday, 25 March 2008

The Radisson Resort Fiji is putting its support behind Earth Hour; a worldwide event in which people around the world are encouraged to switch off their lights for one hour from 8pm on Saturday 29 March, 2008.

Guests, residents and visitors to the resort will be invited to take part in an array of Earth Hour initiatives planned for the evening. Guests can enjoy a candlelit dinner at its restaurant, enjoy live acoustic entertainment or take a leisurely stroll around the candlelit lobby.

In the lead up to Earth Hour, The Radisson Resort Fiji will be encouraging guests to switch off non-essential lights and air-conditioning units in their rooms, and will lead by example by shutting down non-essential lighting in the main building areas for an hour.

Justin Phillips, General Manager of the Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island, said, "Radisson Resort Fiji is excited to participate in the first international Earth Hour. We truly appreciate the importance of being environmentally friendly and spreading this vital message."

The Radisson Resort Fiji Denarau Island has also engaged with Climate Friendly, an organisation which is helping the resort provide an option to its guests to carbon offset their stay.

Located just 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport the resort offers 270 guest rooms and suites plus a myriad of facilities nestled around lagoon swimming pools and lush tropical gardens.
