MakeMyTrip, one of India’s leading travel portals, has expanded its range of offerings to include Bus Ticket Bookings. Travellers can now access this service both on the website or the physical travel stores in over 20 cities across India.

Travellers can book tickets by logging onto the MakeMyTrip website and clicking on the Bus ticket booking option. The ticket booking menu will appear on the screen. Passengers can then feed in details regarding points of departure and destination as well as select the departure date. The screen displays the available options – the passengers can choose the preferred option as well as their seat-of-choice. Once the booking details are confirmed, payment can be made either through a credit card, a debit card or an internet enabled online bank account.

Bookings are available across categories like Volvo, Air Conditioned, Non Air Conditioned, Deluxe, Semi Deluxe, Sleeper and Semi Sleeper buses.

Speaking about the new service, Mr. Rajnish Kapur, CIO, said, “Over the last few months, we have witnessed a surge in the ancillary services business. With more people recognizing the choice and value offered by travel portals, it wasn’t long before the more traditional business categories would witness migration. By launching this service we are seeking to strengthen our portfolio of offerings and ensure that we remain the one-stop shop for travel solutions.”

Bus tickets booked through MakeMyTrip.com are e-tickets which can be printed at the time of booking. MakeMyTrip also shares the e-ticket with customers through e-mail that can be printed at a later date. The traveller is required to take a printout of the ticket along with an identity proof and present it at the time of boarding.
