Life Resorts appoints Holman Fong as Director of Sales and Marketing

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 19 November 2008

Life Resorts has appointed Holman Fong as Director of Sales and Marketing for its growing portfolio of owned and managed properties in Vietnam.

Fong’s experience includes management stints at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Hyatt International, Marriott International, Accor, Sheraton, OAG and Millennium & Copthorne Hotels. He has also worked for Life Resorts as the company’s Asia representative in Hong Kong.

His expertise ranges from pre-openings to regional sales management, a skill-set of particular appeal to Life Resorts.

Based in Life’s HCMC headquarters, Fong’ responsibilities include development of marketing strategies that leverage the group’s philosophical commitment to the senses, to cultural sensitivity, environmental awareness and feng shui.

“We’re currently operating two of our own properties, managing a third and in pre-opening development on several other owned and to-be-managed properties,” said Chris Duffy, general director of Life Resorts Management.

Life Resorts owns and operates the 94-room Life Heritage Resort Hoi An. Reopened in August after a major six-month renovation, the resort evokes the colonial splendor of a bygone era on a quiet stretch of the Thu Bon River within walking distance of the trading port’s downtown. The company also owns and operates the Life Wellness Resort Quy Nhon. Inspired by the architecture of the Kingdom of Champa, the 63-room hideaway boutique is dedicated to the tenets of wellness, from yoga, tai chi and Pilates to an ample range of spa treatments and anti-stress and detox programs.

Life Resorts also manages the Blue Ocean Resort in Mui Ne. The 84-room Blue Ocean Resort features a 153-meter private beach, a newly renovated 26-meter swimming pool, as well as some private bungalow plunge pools, on-site waterfalls, fountains, tranquil water features and lush tropical grounds.

The group is also co-developing the Life Resort Danang, a 182-room property on China Beach that will rank as the company’s largest resort to date.

Elsewhere in Vietnam, Life Resorts is developing a suite of new resorts, from the limestone karsts of Ninh Binh, to the mountains of Sapa and the emerald waters of Halong Bay.
