Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Wednesday, 19 November 2008

Dressing up in outrageous outfits for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is a little more exciting this year thanks to the Xerox and What's On "Seen at the Sevens" competition.

Fans are being encouraged to dress up to attend the tournament which takes place from November 27-29 at the new Emirates' sports facility, ‘The Sevens', and stand the chance of winning special prizes.

A corporate hospitality table of 10 at next year's Rugby World Cup Sevens, from March 5-7, is up for grabs to the most comically dressed rugby fan, courtesy of Emirates.

To enter, fans can simply don their fancy dress outfits and have their photos taken at the Xerox booth in the Rugby Village. Photos of the best-dressed finalists will be published in the January edition of What's On and the winner of the Corporate Hospitality package will be announced at the tournament. Runners up will win a Xerox printer and a subscription to What's On magazine.

"Having fun is such an important part of the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens, which over the years has developed into a true family event with plenty of activities to keep all age groups entertained," said Gary Chapman, President Group Services and Dnata, Emirates Group. "This competition is adding yet another element to the overall fun that's to be had when the tournament kicks off at the new Emirates sports ground on November 27, and I'm sure our fantastic Dubai crowds will really go the extra mile to look the part on the day."

The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens takes place at The Sevens, on the Al Ain Road just beyond the Outlet Mall, from November 27-29, 2008. There are 15,000 parking spaces available at the new venue and from 5pm, over 170 buses will be working overtime to transport fans from the venue back into five convenient locations across Dubai.
