New Korean Airline - Jin Air - Takes to the Skies

Jin Air, a Korean short-haul airline, took its maiden flight today. 

Gimpo (Seoul) ~ Jeju is Jin Air’s first domestic route. Its operations are expected to expand to Gimpo ~ Busan and Busan ~ Jeju routes next year. The airline will also expand its fleet, currently composed of one Boeing 737-800, to five aircraft including three 737-800s and two Airbus 300-600s.

Jin Air also plans to initiate international operations during the second half of next year, starting with open sky regions in China, Japan and Southeast Asia.

“Jin Air will set the pace for simple, sophisticated yet practical paradigm of air travel services,” said Jin Air CEO, Jae Kun Kim. “From this first flight, Jin Air will head towards the goal of becoming Asia’s leading premium short-haul carrier, exhibiting world-standard safety and convenience at a reasonable price for the traveling public.”
