Eurostar adds More Services between London - Paris

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Podcasts Thursday, 17 July 2008

Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train operator that links the UK with continental Europe, is adding an 18th service in each direction on the London – Paris route on Mondays to Thursdays from 8 September 2008.

Earlier this month, Eurostar also just boosted weekend services, with up to 20 trains on Fridays from London and Paris and 19 trains from Paris to London.

Eurostar is seeing growth of more than 100% in some regions north of London, as travellers take advantage of good value through fares, easy connections via domestic rail services to St Pancras International, and the high frequency of Eurostar trains.

Eurostar services from St Pancras International in London travel at 186mph to Brussels, Paris and Disneyland Resort Paris, with a huge range of connections to more destinations across France, and cities such as Bruges in Belgium, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and Cologne in Germany.

The addition of extra trains will mean that there is a half-hourly service between London and Paris during the morning and evening peaks, and close to an hourly service throughout the rest of the day.

Eurostar’s Communications Director, Simon Montague, said, “We are delighted at the growing numbers of travellers from the regions and we will soon be rolling out more through fares with other UK train operators.

The increase in services means we have 24,000 seats available between London and Paris on Mondays to Thursdays, and 30,000 seats on Fridays.”
