AirAsia offering On Time Guarantee

Low-cost airline, AirAsia, is now offering its passengers an on-time guarantee. Passengers on AirAsia, whose flights are delayed for more than 3 hours from the scheduled time of flight departure, will be entitled to a RM200 AirAsia e-gift voucher.

The compensation covers any delay caused by AirAsia but does not cover delays which are due to circumstances beyond the airline’s control, such as bad weather, air traffic control, airport closures, strikes or acts of God.

The AirAsia e-gift voucher is valid for a period of 3 months from the date of issue and may be used to purchase an AirAsia flight or any other AirAsia products and services online. The AirAsia e-gift voucher may be used only once for a one time payment for one booking only. This means there will be no change given should the value of the booking be less than the e-voucher.

The scheduled time of flight departure means either the time that is printed on the itinerary or any new scheduled flight departure time which AirAsia has advised the guests not less than 24 hours from the original scheduled time of flight departure on the itinerary or whichever is the later.

Mr Tony Fernandes, Group CEO, AirAsia said, “AirAsia On Time Guarantee is aimed to create a fair and positive experience for our guests and to give us more motivation to strive for better performance in the future. It is noteworthy to highlight that AirAsia’s on-time performance is 10 minutes ahead of the industry’s standard and occasionally, arrive earlier than the scheduled expected time of arrival.”

AirAsia reported an on time performance of 89% for the month of May for the Malaysian region.
