Summit Hotels & Resorts has further strengthened its global portfolio and increased its capacity by 3,700 rooms, with the addition of a stunning new range of properties.

A total of 14 new properties have been welcomed by Summit Hotels & Resorts, a brand of Preferred Hotel Group, in the last six months alone. This expansion is significant because it establishes brand presence in Xian and California for the first time, substantially increases its foothold in Tokyo and designates the first Summit golf resort in Italy.

The recent additions to the internationally acclaimed collection of properties include: The Grand Pacific and Hotel Pacific hotels in Tokyo; The Grand Castle Hotel in Xian; Palmerston Etna Golf Resort & Spa in Sicily, Italy; myhotel Bloomsbury and myhotel Chelsea in London; Eden Hotel La Bergère in Maastricht; the Il Lugano in Fort Lauderdale; The Bel Air in Cancun, Mexico; Pheasant Run Resort & Spa in St Charles, Illinois; Westlake Village Inn in California; the Ambassador East in Chicago; the Casa Andina Private Collection Miraflores in Lima, Peru; The Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, Italy and The Legacy Hotel, Maryland, USA.

"Summit Hotels & Resorts is the right brand for right now because it successfully drives business to member hotels and gives travellers what they want - a smart combination of value and luxury," said Lindsey Ueberroth, Vice President, Brand Development, Preferred Hotel Group. "With the addition of more than 3,700 rooms we look forward to introducing even more guests to the great amenities, warm welcome and tailored services that Summit delivers."

"We are seeing a distinct trend in Asia of hotels de-flagging from chains and becoming independents with Grand Castle and the Pacifics joining Summit. Hotel owners recognise that we can offer the technology solutions and sales and marketing expertise at more reasonable costs with the benefit of greater flexibility," added Mark Simmons, Area Managing Director, Asia.
