The
Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, has appointed Mr. Don Lau as its new director of sales and marketing.
Mr. Lau’s responsibilities entail managing the sales and marketing division, which includes the sales, events management, communications and
reservations departments. He will also provide a link between Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong and corporate sales and marketing to ensure the
implementation of corporate initiatives.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Lau held managerial positions with the Marriott group from 2003 to September 2008. He was director of
sales at Shangri-La’s Kerry Centre Hotel, Beijing from 2001 to 2003, and originally at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong from 1997 to 2001.
Mr. Lau is a graduate of Boston University in the U.S.A., and has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
