Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Thursday, 17 January  2008

Tiger Airways has appointed Ms Cecilia Lim as its new General Counsel. Ms Lim will manage legal risks and resources while she leads and develops the legal function to support the growth of the Tiger Aviation Group.

Lim will provide strategic legal counsel to the Tiger Aviation Groups board of directors and senior management team, as well as to the Groups business divisions, Tiger Airways Singapore and Tiger Airways Australia. Her responsibilities also entail rigorous legal support to ensure sound corporate governance, network development and growth initiatives.

Lim has over 15 years of diverse experience in commercial and corporate law, with established law firms such as Allen & Gledhill and Wong Partnership, and regional in-house experience with American multinational companies Baxter Healthcare (medical devices manufacturer) and Huntsman Corporation (specialty chemicals manufacturer). With her extensive regional legal and transactional experience in Asia, including China, India, SEA and Australia, Lim is well-equipped with the requisite experience to support the growth of the Tiger Aviation Group.

Tiger Aviation General Counsel Ms Cecilia Lim said, I am joining Tiger at a very important phase as it moves from a start up enterprise to a full fledged airline with extensive network across Asia Pacific. These are exciting times for Tiger as it evolves into a group holding structure with aggressive growth in the Asia Pacific region. It is timely for me to come in now to support its growth and provide legal and compliance leadership. I am excited by the challenges that are ahead.

Ms Cecilia Lim hails from Singapore and has a Master of Law from Cambridge University, UK. She is a member of the Singapore Academy of Law as well as an associate member of the Law Society of Singapore. Ms Lim has been admitted to the Singapore Bar since 1992. She is in her late 30s.
