Tiger Airways is to increase capacity to 40 flights a week between Melbourne and Adelaide by March next year. Travellers will then have the choice of up to 6 flights a day. The new capacity will be progressively introduced from 15 December 2008 through to 1 March 2009.

Shelley Roberts Managing Director of Tiger Airways Australia said, “We have experienced strong demand on this route since we started it earlier this year. The additional frequencies will mean that we are offering more choice for travellers at our famous low, low fares.”

To mark the increase in flights between Melbourne and Adelaide Tiger Airways has 29,000 seats on sale until Sunday 17 August from A$29.95 for travel between 15 December to 30 June 09.

Tiger Airways is currently recruiting for cabin crew and pilots to be based in Adelaide operating its brand new fleet of Airbus aircraft.

In Asia, from 26 October 2008, Tiger Airways will also increase the number of flights between Singapore and Macau from 7 a week to 13 flights per week.

The additional service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It compliments the existing afternoon service so passengers have a choice of morning or afternoon departures.
