Travelport GDS, one of the world’s largest global distribution system providers, has signed an agreement with
Expedia to provide global distribution system (GDS) services for various
Expedia points of sale in Europe.
The partnership with Travelport GDS reinforces the commitment
Expedia has made to a multi-GDS strategy to provide customers with an
improved experience by presenting greater flight selection and more destination options.
“The connection with Travelport GDS is a step we have taken in Europe to diversify our GDS mix as we continue to expand in size and
geographic reach,” Wes Peterson, vice president, EMEA Transport & Tour, Expedia. “We are pleased to have access to the fares and
inventory Travelport GDS will offer our customers in Europe.”
Through this agreement Expedia began flowing segments in January from select European points of sale to Travelport GDS.
