Ethiopian Airlines and Lufthansa German Airlines have commenced daily codeshare services between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and
Frankfurt, Germany.
“The new code share agreement marks a significant landmark as we are now in the position to offer our customers daily connections
between Addis Ababa and Lufthansa’s hub in Frankfurt, with convenient onward flights,” said Mr. Tewolde Mariam, Chief Operating Officer
of Ethiopian.
The agreement strengthens Ethiopian's position in Germany and other European markets by creating additional possibilities to access traffic
through the extensive network of Lufthansa.
Ethiopian currently operates three weekly services from Addis Ababa to Frankfurt, while Lufthansa currently flies the route four times
weekly.
Members of Ethiopian’s ShebaMiles and Lufthansa’s Miles and More award programs can now earn and redeem miles on international and
domestic scheduled flights of both airlines.
