The number 8 is widely considered the luckiest of all numbers, especially in Chinese culture as it signifies prosperity and wealth. It is widely believed that the more 8’s involved in a couple’s life together, the better the chance for luck and wealth.

To play on this, and hopefully bring a little more wow to ones vows, the Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket has created an exclusive Lucky Weddings experience on 08/08/08.

Guests even begin their Thai and Western style blessing ceremony at 8:08am/pm, or to be more specific 8:08:08am/pm.

The Lucky Weddings promotion includes:

- Four nights in a Lagoon Villa with a complimentary upgrade to a Private Pool Villa, overlooking the golf course or a tranquil lagoon, including exclusive privileges throughout the stay
- Limousine transfer by Mercedes Benz on arrival and departure
- Thai flower garland for the bride and groom presented upon arrival
- One bottle of French Champagne on arrival with a plate of canapés and chocolates
- Decorated wedding venue
- Bridal beauty treatment including a manicure, pedicure and facial treatment
- Hair and make up for the bride on the wedding day
- Corsage for the groom and groomsman as well as one floral bouquet for the bride and bridesmaid
- Wedding blessing certificate
- One bottle of French Champagne at the ceremony
- Wedding cake
- Greeting by a baby elephant following the wedding ceremony
- Wedding ceremony photography and one indigenous framed photo with selected bridal photograph
- Release of Chiang Mai lanterns following the ceremony
- Champagne breakfast for two in-villa on the day following the wedding
- A romantic BBQ dinner for two in-villa, on the beach or in the gardens
- Half day private Luxury Motor Yacht. Enjoy the magical islands around Phuket
- An exclusive three hour spa experience for two at the Angsana Spa
- A romantic soak selection in a specially prepared bath in your room

Of course, the Lucky Wedding experience is priced at US$ 8,888++

Guests can choose from a varied selection of wedding locations and styles, from a simple beach ceremony to a traditional chapel service, from a secluded island location to a beautiful garden setting, the hotel's professional planners can tailor make a perfect day.

Some additional tips on incorporating 8 into your special day include asking 8 friends to be in your wedding party, incorporate 8 different kinds of flowers into your bouquet, have 8 diamonds in your wedding bands, incorporate 8 parts into the ceremony.

The rate quoted is in US Dollars on a per couple basis. With so much attention to detail, it is a little surprisingly the rate quoted above is subject to service charge and applicable government taxes, meaning the final price you pay won't be US$ 8,888.

It should also be note that the wedding ceremony is symbolic in nature and therefore is not legally recognized, however, if requested the hotel can provide the assistance required to obtain official legal certificates. The Lucky Wedding’s experience is for a maximum of 50 guests.
