United Airlines in Thailand has added New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz and the Mardi Gras, to its popular destination promotion, "Dreamy USA". Dreamy USA holiday travel packages are sold exclusively in Thailand.

New Orleans is renowned for its diverse culture, cosmopolitan heritage, cuisine and architecture, and is located on the Mississippi River. The six-day/four-night New Orleans package also includes Chicago. The twin-destination trip includes roundtrip economy airfare, hotel accommodation and transfers and costs 55,100 baht. Terms and conditions apply.

Dreamy USA participants can earn a roundtrip award ticket to Tokyo on United Airlines with the purchase of a Dreamy USA package with a HSBC Premier MasterCard and Visa Platinum card.

"United is offering customers exceptional value to visit an exceptional destination. New Orleans is truly unique," said United's acting general manager for Thailand, Mr Joe Mannix. "It buzzes with vibrant sights, tastes and sounds. Music lovers can combine a visit to New Orleans with trips to other Dreamy USA destinations, such as Memphis and Chicago."

New Orleans' key attractions include the city's French Quarter, with its distinctive Creole townhouses, notable for their large courtyards and intricate iron balconies. Here visitors can see Jackson Square, which was modeled on the Place des Vosges in Paris, France, and features the impressive St Louis Cathedral, the oldest  continuously operational cathedral in the USA.

Browsing the district's French Market and strolling down Magazine Street, provide excellent opportunities to soak up the city's character. The Quarter's museums, which include the Historic Voodoo Museum, New Orleans Jazz Museum, and the Mardi Gras Museum, afford further cultural and historical insights.

It's hard to escape New Orleans' close association with music, especially jazz. Congo Square, located in Louis Armstrong Park, in the Treme district, has a musical history dating back to the 18th century. Bourbon Street, with its myriad clubs, bars and restaurants, remains the city's most famous street and a key nightlife destination.

New Orleans is also famed for its annual Mardi Gras Carnival, and the Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World gives visitors the chance to get up close to the massive floats and to see how they are constructed.

A trip to New Orleans wouldn't be complete without an authentic steam boat cruise aboard the Natchez, which tours the Mississippi and New Orleans harbor, and is operated by the New Orleans Steamboat Company.

Dreamy USA offers a total of 19 destinations in the USA. Prices start from 38,000 baht per person.

Nine travel agents in Bangkok specialize in offering Dreamy USA travel packages. They are: Global Union Express, Heng Chiang Tours, Majestic Travel, Reliance Holidays, Tour Lines, Bonus Travel, ST Deluxe Tour, Travel One and Turismo Asia.
