Prestige Hotels, TAT, Gullivers, Slovenia, Kenya and Conrad Advertising win Awards at World Travel Market

Prestige Hotels of the World by Keytel has won the Best Stand Design Award at the World Travel Market in London. Prestige Hotels, which represents 73 luxury hotels in over 17 countries, was praised for their ‘great modern design’ by the judges through the use of plasma screens to illustrate what they do. The judges also cited the clever use of small stand space and said the stand was ‘eye-catching and colourful with good use of lighting’.

The criteria for this award included having an eye-catching, unusual and creative design, best use of space, being inviting for visitors and having an outstanding presence. With offices in Barcelona, Madrid and London and commercial delegations in Europe and America, Prestige Hotels provides branding, distribution, marketing and account management of the luxury establishments they represent.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand took Best Stand Feature for their ‘great reception area with a wonderful floral display’. Judges also liked the great signage with excellent use of graphics. The overall effect was to show Thailand in all its glory as a truly amazing holiday destination.

This award had to meet the criteria of having an impactful stand, good use of eye-catching features to capture cultural characteristics and encourage visitors to the stand. Thailand’s stand depicted seven amazing wonders to highlight the country’s hospitable reputation and all year round characteristics, showcasing the country’s green credentials.

Best Stand for Doing Business went to the Slovenian Tourist Board for creating a ‘wonderful busy business atmosphere’. The great layout of the stand was cited by the judges as helping towards the focus on the b2b idea behind the event. Also praised was the very clean presentation of the stand, its proactive staff and the fact that judges wanted to get more information about Slovenia and how to get a holiday booked there.

Creating a busy b2b atmosphere was top of the list of the criteria for this award, as well as having a well planned and well thought out stand layout with good presentation of the stand and its services. Slovenia describes itself as a green country that lies between the Alps, the Mediterranean and the Pannonian plain, reflecting the diversity of Europe.

Gullivers Travel Associates were awarded Best Stand for Interacting with Travel Agents for their ‘welcoming and colourful stand’, and for handing out small octopuses to complement their theme. The judges enthused about the great meeting space on the two-tiered stands, which were vibrant with proactive staff engaging travel agents and other visitors.

For this award the criteria was a welcoming stand to travel agents to encourage their participation, access to brochures, interactive and engaging staff and use of hospitality. Gullivers Travel Associates, based in Taipei, are exhibiting with the Taiwan Tourism Bureau.

The Best Stand Personnel award was won by Kenya Tourist Board for their ‘great use of cultural outfits for the staff’. The judges noted the staff was very interactive with both clients and customers. In particular, the judges felt they were approachable and passionate about Kenya.

Here the criteria was cohesion in approach from all team members, having attentive and enthusiastic staff with good knowledge of products and good face-to-face contact with visitors. Kenya’s stand focuses on the value added activities it offers, adventure holidays, its culture, coastline, sports safaris and eco tourism.

The Most Innovative Stand within Technology and Online Travel Region went to Conrad Advertising for their very ‘clever use of small space with very proactive staff’. The judges felt it was easy to see exactly what Conrad does and what they are about. The team was very helpful and enthusiastic, creating a ‘great platform for their business’.

The criteria to meet for this award was having an eye-catching stand with outstanding presence, along with creative use of space and the best use of technology to attract visitors. Conrad Advertising is a full service advertising agency providing specialist media and creative solutions for the travel industry. This year the company celebrates its 20th anniversary, promoting direct response travel advertising.
