The Qantas Group’s low cost airline Jetstar is to launch direct daily Airbus A320 services between Singapore and Perth in Australia on 1 December 2008.

The new direct daily service means that by the end of the year, Jetstar will serve a total of five Australian destinations from Singapore – double daily services to Darwin, daily services to Perth and connecting services to Cairns, Sydney and Melbourne.

For a limited time only, Jetstar is offering special one-way web sale fares of Sin$8 (excluding surcharges, fees and taxes). The sale fares are available from 12 noon Friday 11 July until 21.59pm Friday 11 July 2008 unless seats sell out prior.

The special offer is for travel between 1 December 2008 to 15 December 2008 and 3 February 2009 and 31 March 2009. Fares are subject to availability and are not available on all flights or days.

Jetstar’s all day, regular fares on the route will start from Sin$ 38 (plus surcharges, fees and taxes) for one way JetSaver Light fares.

Jetstar Chief Executive Alan Joyce said the fares would be covered by Jetstar’s Double the Difference Price Guarantee.

“Low fares leadership is at the core of Jetstar’s offering. Our Double the Difference Price Guarantee is a demonstration of our commitment to delivering low fares that allow more people to travel more often,” Mr Joyce said.

Any customer who books a lower fare on an alternative airline on the same route at a comparative time, receives a Jetstar travel voucher worth double the difference.

The new Singapore-Perth route will provide opportunities for passengers to connect through from a wide range of destinations on the Jetstar network. Jetstar Asia offers every day low fares to Singapore from Hong Kong (from Sin$ 128), Bangkok (from Sin$ 38), Ho Chi Minh City (from Sin$ 58), Kuala Lumpur (from Sin$ 28), Macau (from Sin$ 78), Taipei (Sin$ 158) and Yangon (Sin$ 138), which would offer connections to Perth.
