Travelport GDS launches New Customisable Version of ViewTrip

Travel News Asia Latest Travel News Monday, 10 March 2008

Travelport GDS, one of the world's largest global distribution system providers has enhanced its online itinerary tool ViewTrip and launched a new customisable version (white label) which will enable agents in the Asia Pacific region to earn new revenue streams.

The enhanced, generic version of Travelport ViewTrip replaces the former Galileo ViewTrip and Worldspan My Trip and More products, combining the best of both solutions. It allows travellers to view, print and email itineraries, expense receipts and electronic receipts via a website in 23 languages, including Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Thai, Bahasa Malay and Japanese. Users of the former Galileo ViewTrip product will now have access to rich new content such as driving directions, comprehensive maps, flight status and hotel property images.

"This is the first time we have used the Travelport name on one of our global products and is tangible evidence of the benefits our recent integration (the merger of Galileo and Worldspan to form Travelport GDS), will bring to our customers," said Ms Abigail Lee, Product Marketing Manager for Travelport, Asia Pacific.

In addition, Galileo-connected agents in the Asia Pacific region now have access to a white label version of Travelport ViewTrip, which can be customised with the agency's brand and feature agency promotions and advertising messages. By empowering travellers to access their own travel details, agents save valuable time spent responding to itinerary requests while taking advantage of new revenue and promotional opportunities.

The first agent to implement the new product in Asia is Travelex, Hong Kong, whose General Manager, Ms Eliza Ma said, "we are delighted to be able to offer our travellers the ability to view their itinerary information anywhere, anytime, free of charge. And as an agency we look forward to the new branding and marketing opportunities and potential new revenue streams that this product will provide."
